Dr Ian Gawler - Medicine of the Mind

When we're going through times of extreme ill health we can naturally feel very fearful and vulnerable. It can give us an extraordinary lift to listen to somebody who has been profoundly sick but then recovered to full vibrant health and vitality - that's why we're so delighted to welcome Dr Ian Gawler each year; for the hope, practical information and inspiration that he gives.
Ian, when a young vet and athlete, suddenly found that his leg needed to be amputated because of cancer. A few months later came secondaries in the lymph nodes. Then everything seemed to be getting worse and worse - his kidneys became blocked, his weight fell away and his face turned jaundiced. Later the cancer spread to his pelvis and lungs and he started coughing up shards of bone and blood. It was then thought that Ian had only a couple of weeks to live - that was 29 years ago - Isn't the human capacity for recovery extraordinary - it can defy all logic and predictions.
Ian went on to have four children and commenced the Gawler Foundation in Victoria, where hundreds of people go yearly, looking for answers to major health problems. He has written several books including You Can Conquer Cancer (which is now in 12 languages) - The Creative Power of Imagery; Peace of Mind and Meditation - Pure and Simple. We carry a wide range of Ian Gawler CDs in our Shop.
Ian and his wife Dr Ruth Gawler will be with us on Thursday 11 September and Saturday 13, Sunday 14 September presenting seminars covering Medicine of the Mind - Meditation Pure and Simple and Health Healing and Wellbeing - preventing and healing major illness - see page 15.

We welcome Dr Meath Conlan - an extraordinary explorer of life

If you are a true spiritual seeker don't miss this opportunity to meet Dr Meath Conlan. Meath's mentor and friend of many years was the late Dom Bede Griffiths, an English Benedictine monk, who, for over thirty years, taught at the Saccidananda Ashram in South India, and was a man of extraordinary wisdom.
Meath embraces Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism as well as the ancient/cosmic religions of Egypt and the Near East. He has never stopped exploring the perennial wisdom of Eastern and Western mysticism and practical spirituality, as well as writing and teaching in many countries.
There is so much one could write about Meath and his lifelong search for truth and the essence of spirituality but space is limited so come and hear him. Meath presents three separate events, Friday Evening, Saturday and Sunday, 25/26/27 July - see pages 7 and 8.

What is Ta Ke Ti Na?

A long-term and greatly valued friend of the Centre called us full of enthusiasm for a session of Ta Ke Ti Na he had attended interstate. He said it is now part of the Music Conservatoriums in Hamburg, Zurich and more recently at the University of Performing Arts in Vienna.
However, very importantly, he said that he felt so good after the session that he hoped we could introduce it to the Centre. Apparently it's now being used in corporate training and a wide range of therapy settings, assisting with pain management, rehabilitation and such like.
So come and meet Tania Bosak and Simone Sivaranam who are bringing it to Brisbane to introduce it to you on 7 August, see page 10.
